Re: Latest purchase?

1914 - Viribus Unitis
Primal Fear - Domination

Just picked up the 1914. It got hit with taxes crossing the border, not a big amount (under C$3), but they slap a C$7.25 "handling fee" for the honour of charging me taxes. Fuck.

Re: Site redesign - progress and suggestions

2025 review counts

Alright, I just posted the last reviews of 2025. Here are the counts per reviewer for the year:

dude - 27 (was around for a couple of months and disappeared)
Luxi Lahtinen - 40 (lots of interviews and features, too - Hail our crazy Finn!)
MetalMike - 240 (been a couple of years since the kid beat ...

Re: Recent shows

I only saw Sabaton once, last year, and it was in an NHL arena, but it was far from full. They were opening for Judas Priest. That show could have taken place at another arena across the river from there with a 10,000 capacity in hockey configuration (vs. 20,000 or so).

Re: End of the Year - 2025 Best? (and maybe the worst?)

Re: Recent shows

Double post but just got back from seeing Candlemass on their 40 years of doom tour. Second time seeing them this year, the other one was at a festival so felt abbreviated. They were great today. I almost have to laught at how heavy they sound live. Fuck, what a show.

I'm a bit disconnected ...

I haven't heard the new album, and based on your review, I'm not exactly in a rush to hear it.

Re: What's the last movie you saw?

Event Horizon

Year 2047, a rescue ship leaves to find a spaceship that was lost years earlier. That spaceship can fold space and time to go to its destination almost instantaneously. This is basically horror science-fiction, in roughly the same league as Alien (not as good and different story, of ...

Re: What's the last movie you saw?

The Bedford Incident (1965). Black and white movie. I found it on YouTube, but I could swear I saw this movie a very long time ago.

A U.S. Navy ship is tracking a Soviet submarine and the captain is a little obsessed with getting them. The captain is a hardass and runs a tight ship, though not ...
