Helloween with Beast in Black the other day.

Good value for money, and I was lucky to get a seat. Helloween played a set full of hits for nearly 2.5 hours. A lot of fun, Kiske really impressed me. Happy that they played Ride the Sky and Heavy Metal (Is the Law) from my favorite record by them. Universe from the new album was also very well done.

Beast in Black was pretty meh.

Oh, man, those are my two favorite songs from that album. If they hit the states, I may have to go even though I haven't heard anything from the new album

They're coming to Montreal, but within a couple of hours, the only tickets were "certified resale" starting at $140. The system has failed.

Little death metal night in Quebec City last night: Spirit of Rebellion (album release show), Sulfure, Worm Altar and Cadavris.

Cadavris is a new band, no official release yet, but they have members from established bands like Riotor. Pretty solid and very enjoyable set. Worm Altar, the only band from outside Quebec that night (they're from Maine) had minimal crowd interaction, just plowing away song after song. Pretty heavy stuff, lots of noise for three guys. Sulfure has members of such bands as Outre-Tombe and Saccage and I think that was my favourite set of the night. These are guys who have a lot of stage experience, and it showed. Spirit of Rebellion was, of course, really good as this was their night. Unfortunately, four bands, my body was starting to shut down, so it wasn't as enjoyable as I just wanted to get out of there (that venue has no seats anywhere, so after a few hours, the legs start screaming bloody murder).

Next is Krisiun in Montreal on the 28th, the "25th anniversary of Conquerors of Armageddon" tour.
